All the favs this week!
ONE// J.Crew Top: “Comfort” is a key part of my wardrobe and this top is the perfect combo of comfy + chic. Perfect with jeans and sneaks or oversized with leggings!
TWO// Essie ‘The Perfect Cover Up’: When it comes to nail polish, I’m usually a neutrals girl with little exception. But the Essie Fall 2014 line is pretty great, and there’s a good chance I’ll test the waters with a couple. I never thought a variation on turquoise polish would make one of these lists… #branchingout.
THREE// J.Crew Factory Flats: There’s a very good chance I shared these shoes in pink last year….but now, navy. If you asked me to design my perfect pair of flats, it would probably be these. Holding off purchasing for now (I’m trying to be good! And because these are also on my list), but consider me obsessed.
FOUR// L.L. Bean Bag: This bag is beautiful and the budget-friendly version of the Coach bag I’ve been coveting for quite some time. I’d definitely want it in a more versatile color — maybe they’ll restock — but if you want something colorful, this one’s great. I’m a huge proponent of anything L.L. Bean… everything is so well made and their customer service is phenomenal!
FIVE// Julie Vos Earrings: Turquoise is a stone that I love in moderation (I just don’t pull off an abundance of it well!) and these earrings are the perfect amount. They’re elegant without being too showy, which can be hard to come by these days! Not to mention they’re in the Julie Vos Sample Sale…
SIX// Ella Moss Silk Tank: I know this top is a) expensive and b) not something you’d normally see me post, but truth is, I do love a good pattern (not just Lilly!). This tank is beautiful and I’m a huge fan of the subtle navy neckline. Definitely something that could be worn year-round, too!
Sidenote/PSA: The site is going to be down for a bit tonight in preparation for the elusive surprise (ok, redesign) that I’ve been dropping hints about for awhile now. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan…things should be back to normal by Friday A.M.
Blue, white, and gold. Three of my top five favorite colors. And multiple things from Waiting on Martha. What could be better?
ONE/ Madame Mathilde Studs: I recently discovered Madame Mathilde, a jewelry + handbag brand based out of NYC. Their necklaces and earrings are equally stunning — talk about the perfect statement pieces! You wouldn’t even have to think about much more jewelry when you have any of these gems on.
TWO/ Waiting on Martha Pom Pom Scarf: The navy scarf just sold out after I made this, but the pink + white one is perfection. If you’re in the mood for blue + white, this tassel one…swoon. Despite not being much for trends, pom poms and tassels are something I can really get behind. I may the weird person who wants to wear pom pom scarves after the trend dies, and I’m okay with that!
THREE/ Waiting on Martha Coral Bottle Stopper: A cute way to keep a slice of summer on your bar cart/corner and because one can never have enough bottle stoppers…right?
FOUR/ High Street Market Brass Peanut Boxes: High Street Market is one of my favorite new discoveries… the selection (and prices) are awesome! I love these quirky little peanut-shaped boxes and love getting lost in the abyss of their products.
FIVE/ J.Crew Sweater: This sweater looks so cozy and is a completely acceptable August purchase because it works well with white jeans for the next couple of months and with jeans or leggings after that. Plus, it comes in so many colors!
SIX/ Poppin Stapler: If you’re in the market for some colorful (and matching!) desk accessories, you have to check out Poppin. I’m partial to the navy stapler, but there are so many colors and items to choose from.
SEVEN/ Eliza Blue Quilt via Waiting on Martha: I was so excited to see this quilt in Mandy’s shop because it a very strong resemblance to my favorite quilt from India. If it’s the same, I can guarantee that it’s the perfect weight, gets softer with wear, and makes the perfect statement. Plus, there are pillows cases to match!
ONE// Topshop Skirt: I’ve posted about this skirt before, but it’s on sale now so I had to post it again. If you’re bffs with your bleach or are gifted with coordination and don’t spill on your whites, this guy could be in heavy rotation for the summer months. Imagine how good it would look with a button down and flats or a tank and wedges!
TWO// Bop Basics Clutch: Straw + navy + white = the perfect summer clutch combination. I definitely dropped the ball on getting a summer clutch this year and am hoping to snag one in a post-season sale (seriously, it’s the time to jump on all the essentials you missed out on for the previous season!).
THREE// Mango Racerback Top: The subtle detail on the back is the seller here, as is the pretty summer color. A quick, classic summer look with white jeans + Jacks that you could re-wear year after year.
FOUR// Zara Home Toast Coasters: These are whimsical and perfect…I personally have never seen toast-shaped coasters and am smitten. They’re a little unconventional but would be quite a conversation starter, not to mention are made of cork so are practical at the same time. Did I mention that they’re only $9 for the set? I may or may not have bought them…
FIVE// Sleepy Jones Boxers (hugely on sale!): Sleepy Jones is known for their high quality, luxury sleepwear + loungewear. The prices are usually too steep for me to justify at a time when my old t-shirts are still doing the trick, but I’ll admit to being incredibly tempted by these shorts on sale. With the available color combos, you’re sure to find one you love!
SIX// Fornash Cuff: I ordered this tortoise cuff with an amazing Instagram deal that Tuckernuck had going on a couple of days ago and can’t wait to add it to my bracelet collection. Tortoise is one of my favorite looks and transitions so well from season to season. I always aim to get pieces that are extremely versatile, so was happy to finally cross a tortoise cuff off my list.
SEVEN// Inslee ‘Buttercream Frosting’ Folded Card Set: Many of you know how much I love Inslee’s work (not to mention she’s a complete sweetheart as evidenced from the couple emails we’ve exchanged) …so 1) she has a newly designed website and 2) I’m realllly into these cards. Inslee may have just based the image off of what my friends and I look like when we’re moments away from stuffing our faces with lots of dessert, except that we’re probably in sweats and don’t have pretty arm parties dangling off our wrists. But this is what we aspire to be like, and that’s the kind of thing fantasy that Inslee captures so so well!
EIGHT// Rieker Wedges: One of my close friends bought a very similar pair of wedges by this brand, Rieker, when she was studying abroad in Germany three years ago. They’re very durable, extremely comfortable, and go with lots of outfits but aren’t totally plain. I’ve been obsessed with them ever since she bought them and wanted a pair for my own, but we both assumed that they wouldn’t be available in the states. Lo and behold, she found them at a little shoe store in Dupont Circle this week! And conveniently for all of you, they’re on Zappos as well. I’m going to hold off for now, but they may be my first spring purchase next year!
Neutral with pops of color is the theme this time around… it’s only going to be a matter of time before my picks start leaning towards fall-friendly colors. I’ll do my best to resist for a few more weeks, but consider yourselves warned!
ONE// Loren Hope Zoe Studs: Bows earrings can be tricky, but Loren Hope does them right (are you surprised, though?). I like the gold + classic take versus the kind of plastic-looking, painted ones that seem to be everywhere.
TWO// C. Wonder Tropical Fruit Stirrers: Cute stirrers are always something I want to have on hand for gatherings but I always get overambitious and want to make them myself, until I realize that there’s no Michaels/large craft store within metro proximity of my apartment. I’d gladly take these for a tropical soiree or not!
THREE// H&M Wooden Salad Servers: I’m admittedly not a big H&M shopper, but their home section has me thinking twice. I saw it in store a few months ago and was kind of impressed then, but their online selection has me wanting a handful of things to my apartment — like these wooden salad servers.
FOUR// BaubleBar Braided Collar Necklace: White + gold already makes this a winner but I like that the rope is beaded… it’s proof that it’s all in the details. The turquoise color is pretty, too!
FIVE// Ben’s Garden Personalized Coasters (via Nordstrom): I’m OBSESSED with these initial coasters! Each letter had a unique color combination and thanks to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the price is right to pick one up for a friend (and/or yourself, because they’re that good).
SIX// Kenzie Pillow Sham (via Nordstrom): I’m a sucker for throw pillows, particularly simple ones. This one fits the bill and would look great on a bed, couch, or desk chair… neutrals for the win, again!
SEVEN// Capwell + Co Ring: Continuing my recent
obsession with interest in cocktail rings, here’s another one I can really get behind.
EIGHT// MATINE Tilly Mini Pouch: I discovered MATINE a few weeks ago and can’t get enough of the beautifully made leather goods. My favorites in Carolyn Misterek’s collection include scallops and tassels, but all of the pieces are divine. It’s impossible to pick favorites, but how good is this scalloped mini pouch? It would make the perfect pouch for a large bag or be a great clutch on its own. It comes in black, too!
Is it bad that I’m already itching towards fall clothing? Blame the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (post to come on Friday!)…
IN THIS POST:
ONE/ BaubleBar x SS Ring: I’ve never been much of a cocktail ring person until recently, but I’m warming up to them! I actually really want this one — no surprise, since I want literally everything in Grace’s BaubleBar collection.
TWO/ Joules Parka: Ok so here’s where I’m guilty of being ready for fall … this color would go great with jeans and leggings, both of which are no-brainer fall wardrobe staples in my book.
THREE/ Lilly Pulitzer Murfee Scarf: Scarves in warm weather are acceptable when Lilly is involved! The murfee scarves are great for having on hand at overly-air conditioned restaurants and on chilly nights. Pom poms are everywhere right now and I kind of love it!
FOUR/ Gap Wedge Sandals: There are currently limited sizes left (Gap restocks online fairly regularly, so you may be in luck if you check back!), but these shoes are on major sale and look incredibly comfy, chic, and versatile.
FIVE/ Old Navy Boxers: Comfy + summery PJ bottoms.
SIX/ Sole Society Tassel Necklace: I’m in the market for a tassel necklace, preferably gold… this one’s a steal at $12!
SEVEN/ Goodnight Macaroon Embroidered Tunic: This is listed as a beach coverup but I think it would be great with denim shorts for a casual summer brunch outfit. It’s also billowy enough for those prone to nasty sunburns!
