All the favs this week!
ONE// J.Crew Top: “Comfort” is a key part of my wardrobe and this top is the perfect combo of comfy + chic. Perfect with jeans and sneaks or oversized with leggings!
TWO// Essie ‘The Perfect Cover Up’: When it comes to nail polish, I’m usually a neutrals girl with little exception. But the Essie Fall 2014 line is pretty great, and there’s a good chance I’ll test the waters with a couple. I never thought a variation on turquoise polish would make one of these lists… #branchingout.
THREE// J.Crew Factory Flats: There’s a very good chance I shared these shoes in pink last year….but now, navy. If you asked me to design my perfect pair of flats, it would probably be these. Holding off purchasing for now (I’m trying to be good! And because these are also on my list), but consider me obsessed.
FOUR// L.L. Bean Bag: This bag is beautiful and the budget-friendly version of the Coach bag I’ve been coveting for quite some time. I’d definitely want it in a more versatile color — maybe they’ll restock — but if you want something colorful, this one’s great. I’m a huge proponent of anything L.L. Bean… everything is so well made and their customer service is phenomenal!
FIVE// Julie Vos Earrings: Turquoise is a stone that I love in moderation (I just don’t pull off an abundance of it well!) and these earrings are the perfect amount. They’re elegant without being too showy, which can be hard to come by these days! Not to mention they’re in the Julie Vos Sample Sale…
SIX// Ella Moss Silk Tank: I know this top is a) expensive and b) not something you’d normally see me post, but truth is, I do love a good pattern (not just Lilly!). This tank is beautiful and I’m a huge fan of the subtle navy neckline. Definitely something that could be worn year-round, too!
Sidenote/PSA: The site is going to be down for a bit tonight in preparation for the elusive surprise (ok, redesign) that I’ve been dropping hints about for awhile now. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan…things should be back to normal by Friday A.M.
Just a few of the things I’m loving this week! A nice little mix of practical, fun, dainty, and cozy.
ONE/ Tory Burch Smartphone Wallet: I’ve always thought these wallets were so cool… how convenient would it be to always have a wristlet on hand with your essentials but also be able to easily toss all of that into larger bag? I was a huge wristlet user in middle/high school so this is very much up my alley. My roommate has had one of these iPhone wallets for awhile and I’m really tempted by them!
TWO/ BaubleBar Open Pearl Ring: This is about as edgy as I could probably get jewelry wise. Which is evidently not edgy at all. But I think I love this slightly trendy twist on a classic pearl! Usually I’m with the ‘if it aint broke don’t fix it’ crowd with classic pieces trying to be alternative, but this ring seems like a comfortable way to branch out.
THREE/ J.Crew Factory Quilted Puffer Vest: A puffer vest should have been on my list from last week. For some reason, I always try and buy a puffer vest in, like, November, and get annoyed/discouraged when exactly what I want isn’t available. I’ve done the same thing with black riding boots for years… you think I’d have learned by now. Apparently not, because I currently own neither a pair of black riding boots nor a puffy vest. Everyone knows you must buy seasonal essentials early!
FOUR/ Milk and Honey Cutting Board: How adorable is this cutting board!? Everyone needs a little reminder sometimes, and I would rather have an inanimate object cutely + subtly remind me to increase the greens than someone nag on me for my sometimes questionable eating habits.
FIVE/ Bright Lab Lights: Joanna posted these strings of lights this week and I think they’d be the perfect addition to a bar or food area for a party/gathering. They come in lots of different colors and are really festive.
SIX/ Savon de Marseille Lotion: I’m a sucker for good packaging. And lotion.
SEVEN/ Sperry Topsider Loafers: The two most comfortable pairs of shoes (other than my Keds) that I own are Sperry’s. My classic boat shoes just crossed the five year mark (!!!) and I got a really cute pair of plaid loafers over the holidays last year. They take a few wears to break in, but are worth the bandaids, promise!
EIGHT/ Zara Home Ashtray: To clarify, no I do not smoke. In my mind, this ashtray is the perfect little try for baubles, hairpins, keys, et al. Plus, I’m a sucker for anything paisley. Zara Home is kind of my new obsession…I’m in love with my toast coasters (last seen here) and shipping seems to be free all the time (it’s a bit confusing on the site, but from what I can tell its f.r.e.e.) which is making this new discovery just a little bit dangerous.

Blue, white, and gold. Three of my top five favorite colors. And multiple things from Waiting on Martha. What could be better?
ONE/ Madame Mathilde Studs: I recently discovered Madame Mathilde, a jewelry + handbag brand based out of NYC. Their necklaces and earrings are equally stunning — talk about the perfect statement pieces! You wouldn’t even have to think about much more jewelry when you have any of these gems on.
TWO/ Waiting on Martha Pom Pom Scarf: The navy scarf just sold out after I made this, but the pink + white one is perfection. If you’re in the mood for blue + white, this tassel one…swoon. Despite not being much for trends, pom poms and tassels are something I can really get behind. I may the weird person who wants to wear pom pom scarves after the trend dies, and I’m okay with that!
THREE/ Waiting on Martha Coral Bottle Stopper: A cute way to keep a slice of summer on your bar cart/corner and because one can never have enough bottle stoppers…right?
FOUR/ High Street Market Brass Peanut Boxes: High Street Market is one of my favorite new discoveries… the selection (and prices) are awesome! I love these quirky little peanut-shaped boxes and love getting lost in the abyss of their products.
FIVE/ J.Crew Sweater: This sweater looks so cozy and is a completely acceptable August purchase because it works well with white jeans for the next couple of months and with jeans or leggings after that. Plus, it comes in so many colors!
SIX/ Poppin Stapler: If you’re in the market for some colorful (and matching!) desk accessories, you have to check out Poppin. I’m partial to the navy stapler, but there are so many colors and items to choose from.
SEVEN/ Eliza Blue Quilt via Waiting on Martha: I was so excited to see this quilt in Mandy’s shop because it a very strong resemblance to my favorite quilt from India. If it’s the same, I can guarantee that it’s the perfect weight, gets softer with wear, and makes the perfect statement. Plus, there are pillows cases to match!
You know that ongoing wishlist that gets a small handful of additions per year? I’m sure you do…I’d venture a guess to say most of you have one. Mine includes both attainable, budget-friendly pieces as well as some pricier items. Then there are those longer term items (read: love bracelet [very long term], Burberry trench, Stuart Weitzman boots) that were intentionally left off of here because let’s face it, I don’t need a reminder that those are
bankruptcy inducing in my current state so far out of my budget right now.
So…these are some of the things that are on my mind as summer comes to an end and we start thinking about fall/winter. I don’t necessarily plan to buy the exact version of everything posted here (definitely cheated with the J.Crew shirt…the one pictured is a cotton blend, and I want 100% cotton, which is apparently sold out on the site right now/ I’m open to other boots et al.), but there are some, including this clutch and bag, that I’m planning to get in the pictured form. I’d like to think everything on here is pretty classic, so I’ll justify the purchases by knowing I’ll keep each item for years. By no means do I intend to add all of these to my closet this year, but it’s good to have a list on hand to keep your shopping on track and for when you spot a good sale!
What’s on your wishlist for the coming months? It might be a little early to start thinking about sub-75 degree temps, but I’m so ready!
