Luxury Bedlinens

Considering that we sleep for about a third of our lives, it’s a given that a bed should be cozy and comfortable. People always seem to grumble about college/dorm beds, but I actually didn’t mind them at all– a cheap mattress topper did wonders for an average bed. I get backaches on the reg, so finding a mattress that is just right has become more of a struggle than I ever expected it would.

Despite the constant mattress conundrum, one aspect of the bed that is more in my control is bedding. Ikea has been my go-to as of late… both in college and presently. Their selection was luckily pretty good when I was moving last May. I wanted nothing more than to spring for an incredibly lush, soft, high-quality duvet cover + sheets that weren’t so budget friendly. I wisely listened to my father and picked out a set from Ikea instead, and I’m actually really happy with how things turned out. My duvet is reversible and I use the blue and white striped side (you can kind of see it peeking out at the top right here… the florals are the hidden part for me).

Despite being content with my current situation, I can’t stop myself from browsing luxurious bedding online. I just can’t…and I don’t know why. I know that a purchase or two is coming up in the next couple of years. High thread count sheets are one thing, but chic duvets and pillowcases? A whole other ballgame. I’m going to share some of my favorites with you and maybe you can confess if you have the same fascination with pretty luxury bedding. I can’t be the only one!
