D.C. is wonderful, it really is. But right now, I would much, much rather be at a summer house near the beach. If you haven’t visited Houzz.com, you should, but only if you have a lot of time to kill. (Looking at dream houses is actually very addicting)
I think part of why I love beach houses so much comes from growing up in Dallas and not having a “regular” beach to visit during the summer (sorry, Galveston doesn’t count). The idea of having a place that’s yours and makes it easy to escape reality seems too good to be true. For now, it’s a farfetched dream that I hope one day will actually come true. The decor in these homes is so perfect, as are the views. If you close your eyes and try really hard, maybe you can pretend you’re there.
