I got back from DC on Sunday after a very busy but productive and fun few days. It was so wonderful to be back in the city and even better to catch up with some friends. As expected, I didn’t quite manage to hit all of the places that I’d have liked and there was no time for anything touristy. Edible favorites that did happen were Shake Shack, The Hamilton, a macaron, sushi, and Zaytinya– not to mention lots of dessert and wine. In addition to eating out, my friends and I spent a couple of nights catching up over wine, cheese, and crackers, which was wonderful since I don’t get to see them often.
Verrrrrrry poor photo quality due to dim restaurant lighting!
Pistachio macaron from Paul
Turkish Coffee Chocolate at Zaytinya (warm chocolate cake, bittersweet chocolate flan, cardamom espuma, espresso syrup)
Celebration Cake at Buca di Beppo
Colossal Brownie Sundae at Buca (be warned: you probably need at least four people to finish this)
Cheeseburger Sliders at The Hamilton
Simple and delicious wine my friend picked up
My friend’s adorable cat, Brutus, who entertained us for quite awhile
